Our company provides a unique Electrostatic Liquid Cleaning Machine to collect all types and sizes of contaminants. This equipment is used to enhance the precision of machine components like servo valves, pumps, and sliding mechanisms. It is involved in static charging of ionized suspended solid contaminants in fluids, oils and collect all the contaminants on spread surface of die-electric media. It remove all types of particles such as wood, plastic, paper, metal wear, and rubber. Apart from all these, our company provide various models of electrostatic liquid cleaning equipments according to various requirements of the clients.
Working:
The working of Electrostatic Liquid Cleaning is based on the principle of Electrostatics which separates and collect fluid contaminants. The small particles migrate to 'positive' or 'negative' electrodes due to electrostatic force. This force is generated by the transformer which charges two sets of SS electrodes, one is 'positive1 and another one is 'negative'. All the impurities, down to sub-micron levels are removed, also the sludge and varnish, which are so small to see by filters. Basically, the particles below 0.01 u can be removed. After that, all the contaminant are collected into the 'collectors', where the intensity of the deformed electric field is highest.
Electrostatic forces remove all types of particles such as metal wear, paper, wood, plastic and rubber. Just like a comb rubbed on dry hair will pick them up.

THE PRINCIPLE OF Working OF Electrostatic Liquid Cleaner
1. Negatively and positively chargeable contaminants present in oil have direct effect its dielectric properties. Facts like attraction between cationic particles to negative pole and anionic particles to positive pole are common occurrence noticed during passing of oil via an electrically charged field.
Contaminated particles with neutrally charged ions are pulled by the differential pressure towards the specific area of die electric media where the deformation of electric field reaches to its highest point.
2. Die electric polarization takes place when external electric field like corrugated die electric media or collectors are included between two electrodes. This inclusion results in deformation of the electric field. All the positively and negatively charged particles are attracted towards the tip part of the die electric media where electric force is highest. Thus the contaminated particles that are drawn towards their reverse electric poles are accumulated and are eliminated from oil sans any difficulty.
WHAT IS THE LIMIT TO WHICH OIL CAN BE CLEANED BY ELCs
Designing suitable mechanical filter for removal of fine or small contaminated particles from oil is quite challenging job for any filter making organization because any precisely developed filter can attain a specific dp value even if it filtrates at high speed.
The electrostatic liquid cleaner or ELC incorporates advanced mechanism for effective eradication of fine contaminated particles present in oil. The light weight small particles possess higher electric charge that enables these to pass through an electric field at high speed which in turn simplifies particle removal function of ELC.
The ELC is suitable for proper elimination of all sorts of suspended particles and insoluble materials present in inorganic/organic, non-magnetic/magnetic, oil, sludge or resin based substances. Even contaminants like bacteria and virus can be eradicated via ELC from oil. The ELC is also useful for successful removal of 0.01 micron sized particles. It is feasible to preserve cleanliness of oil in a hydraulic system during its functioning at higher level than the purity level 6 which is mentioned by the National Aerospace Standard (NAS).
The purity standard of new hydraulic oil is in sync with ISO 23/21/18 or NAS 10-12 specifications. It denotes the capability of ELC in preserving higher purity level of used oil than new oil in a hydraulic system during its operation.
Maintaining purity of oil as per ISO 16/14/11 or NAS 5 standard in a hydraulic system during its operational mode is more significant than obtaining oil of NAS 5 purity standard and to apply it in a system that may lead to contamination of oil.
Frequently Asked Questions:
1. How long can oil be used?
It took a million of years for Mother Earth to create the chemical atomic bonds of oil. Hydraulic oil can be utilized in less than 50 degree C ambient temperature and its storage life is considerably more than the system for which the oil is being used.
2) Does oil viscosity change when oil is used for a long time?
The viscosity level of oil is subjected to change in case the oil is
i. Blended with other oil of comparatively low or high viscosity level
ii. Combined with water
iii. Heat is applied. After application of heat, the viscosity level of oil will reach the same level as it was before.
3) Does oil viscosity change or are additives depleted if oil is maintained with ELC and used for many years?
Purification process of oil with ELC for longer period does not cause any change in additive or viscosity level.
As per the studies of different Indian oil organizations and self governing research laboratories, the purification mode of ELC does not affect additive quality of treated oil.
As per earlier discussion, ELC has no role in removal of additives of oil during its purification function. It only delays electron losing mechanism of oil. Removal of contaminated particles by ELC helps to extend life span and effectiveness of various additives and antioxidants found in oil. The density of additive in oil decreases with time. With the purification of 10% crude oil annually, the level of its additive is also raised to guarantee about the application of same oil for longer period.
BENEFITS OF ELC SYSTEM OF CONTAMINATION CONTROL
KLEENTEK has played a vital role in supplying of more than 35,000 ELC across the world. In India, more than 1000 electrostatic liquid cleaner have been utilized in industries like steel plants, injection molding, defense sector, power generation plants, copper production unit, aluminum plants and in other industries where application of lubrication and hydraulic oils are common.
Oil contamination controlling method adopted by ELC contributes to the following benefits:
- No need to alter oil
- The advanced oil filtration technique of ELC ensures error free operation of lubrication and hydraulic systems. It helps to save their maintenance charge.
- The uninterrupted operation of lubrication and hydraulic systems ensure high output level.
- Purification of ELC helps to minimize leakage of oil which in turn makes working environment safe, hygienic and clean.
- The filtration process of ELC helps to maintain standard quality of hydraulic circuit.
- It helps to minimize energy usage of systems.
Comparison With filters for particulate removal
The filtration process of mechanical filters and electrostatic cleaners is different. The filters used during mechanical purification process act as hindrance parts with specific pore size through which oil or fluid is forced to pass by applying pressure. During electrostatic cleaning function, cutting edge electrostatic procedure is utilized to eliminate contaminated particles of oil or fluid.
